This is a custom-built display for the WeatherFlow Tempest weather station. You MUST
own a WeatherFlow Tempest or Air/Sky, or have the ability to obtain the required WeatherFlow API key from a family member or friend. Home WiFi is also needed for wireless operation.
One of the biggest complaints about the WeatherFlow Tempest is that there is no dedicated display. This device solves this problem by providing a convenient, well-organized summary of all weather data from the Tempest weather station. Weather data is updated every minute with rapid wind updates as soon as every 3 seconds. The Air and Sky combination also will provide the indoor temperature.
This 7" touchscreen weather display is based on the Raspberry Pi 3 and the free, open-source WeatherFlow Pi Console software. The display can be placed on a desk, table, or countertop, or mounted on a wall.
To wall mount, remove the plate from the back, drill a few holes in it, affix the plate to a wall, and slide the display onto the mounting plate. An extra mounting plate is included. No other mounting hardware is included. NOTE: There is a slight manufacturing defect in the enclosure which causes the screen to be mounted slightly off-center. This defect isn't very noticeable, but I want to disclose the defect so you can make an informed purchase decision.
The network and USB ports are accessible. This enclosure does not allow access to the HDMI port, audio jack, and micro SD card.
The display measures about 9.5" x 6.55" x 2.5".
All components were purchased new to build this display. You will receive the display unit pictured and a 5v 3A power supply.
After purchase, I can set up the display for you if you would like. You will need to send me some information about your Tempest. Once you receive the display unit, use the on-screen keyboard to connect to your home Wi-Fi. You can also connect the display to a wired network if you wish.
