Inadvertently gain fame and notoriety by launching your own weather balloon with this radar-invisible Vaisala RS92-SGP radiosonde for measuring weather data aloft. Contains GPS and radio transmitter, along with pressure, temperature and humidity sensors.
Requires a separate battery that snaps on the back - weight with a water-filled battery (you fill the battery with water just before you launch) is about 250 grams, or the dry cell version weighs closer to 300 grams.
Vaisala radiosondes are a world standard for weather research, and are routinely launched on balloons by amateurs, primary and secondary schools, colleges and government institutions. You can find detailed specifications and other information on the NOAA website:
