The piezoelectric rain sensor The piezoelectric rain sensor measures the weight of a single raindrop and calculates rainfall. The raindrop receives the effect of raindrop weight and air resistance during the landing process. When reaching the ground, it is a constant speed. According to P=mv, the impact weight can be obtained by measuring the impact and then the continuous rainfall amount can be obtained. Piezoelectric rain sensors have no mechanical parts, therefore more robust, sensitive and reliable than other rain gauges. Testing Equipment "Artificial simulated rainfall hall" is a device for measuring the precision of rain sensors. It is the second largest indoor simulated rainfall hall in the world, with effective rainfall area of 1,260 square meters. The computer control system independently control the rainfall of four precipitation zones with different rainfall intensity, simulate the characteristics of nature, and conduct rainfall scour experiment. The system in the rain hall is composed of a downspouting rain system and a side spouting rain system. The precipitation height of the downpour system is 18 meters, and the variation range of rainfall intensity is 30-350 mm/h.The rainfall uniformityis more than 80%, and the maximum duration of continuous rainfall is 12 hours. The lateral spray rain system has a rainfall height of 16 meters, which can meet the end speed of all raindrops. The variation range of rainfall intensity is 40-260 mm/h, the rainfall uniformity is more than 80%,and the maximum duration of rainfall is 12 hours.
